A sense of the place
Bellagio Las Vegas opened on October 15, 1998, on the site of the old Dunes, and its 8.5-acre lake has been home to one of the Strip's best free shows ever since. The resort has about 3,930 rooms: the original 36-story tower opened with about 3,000, and the Spa Tower added 928 more in 2004.
It sits on the west side of the center Strip, with Caesars Palace to the north and The Cosmopolitan to the south, and Paris Las Vegas looks across the boulevard at the lake. MGM Resorts runs Bellagio under a lease from Blackstone, which bought the property in 2019, and since 2024 the hotel has also been sold through Marriott as part of its Luxury Collection.
Bellagio suits people who want a polished, grown-up version of Las Vegas: fine dining, a famous water show outside the door and an easy walk to the rest of the center Strip. You don't need to stay here to enjoy it, because the fountains, the Conservatory and the lobby's glass ceiling are all free to see.
What to look for
The Fountains of Bellagio: the free water show on the lake is set to music and lasts a few minutes. Shows run every 30 minutes in the afternoon and every 15 minutes from the evening until midnight.
The Conservatory & Botanical Gardens: a 13,500-square-foot garden next to the lobby that is free to visit and changes through five seasonal displays a year. For the holiday display, see our Las Vegas at Christmas guide.
Fiori di Como: Dale Chihuly's glass ceiling in the lobby uses more than 2,000 pieces of hand-blown glass and is worth a look on your way to the Conservatory.
O by Cirque du Soleil: Cirque's water show plays in an 1,800-seat theater built around a pool that serves as the stage. Check show days and prices when you book.
Dining: the lineup includes Carbone Riviera, Michael Mina, Harvest, LAGO and Sadelle's. Le Cirque, open since 1998, closed on August 23, 2026, and a new restaurant is planned for its space in 2027.
Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art: a small museum with rotating exhibitions. Check what's on before you go.
Via Bellagio: a luxury shopping arcade with brands such as Chanel, Gucci, Hermès and Prada.
