A sense of the place
Wynn Las Vegas opened on April 28, 2005, as the $2.7 billion vision of Steve Wynn, with 2,716 rooms and suites, a large casino, a golf course and 18 restaurants. Three years later the $2.3 billion Encore tower opened next door with 2,034 suites and no standard rooms. Together the two bronze towers make up one resort complex that cost more than $5 billion to build.
The complex sits on the east side of the North Strip. Wynn and Encore share the casino floors, the Wynn Golf Club behind the towers and a long list of restaurants, bars and luxury shops, including the two-level Wynn Plaza Shops, which opened in 2018.
Wynn suits travelers who want a polished, high-end stay with serious dining and nightlife, and a calmer feel than the busy center Strip. It is a long walk from the Bellagio and Caesars area, so plan on rideshare, taxi or the Vegas Loop for some trips.
What to look for
Lake of Dreams: a three-acre lake with a 45-foot waterfall behind Wynn. Free light and music shows run every half hour from dusk until about 11:30 p.m. Watch from the free North Show Terrace, or from SW Steakhouse, the Overlook Lounge or Bar Parasol.
Awakening: the stage show that replaced Le Rêve had its final performance set for October 10, 2026. Wynn says a new production will debut in 2027.
Nightlife: XS nightclub opened over New Year's 2008 to 2009 and is one of the longest-running nightclubs in Las Vegas. Encore Beach Club opened in 2010 and helped start the city's dayclub boom.
Dining: options range from Delilah to recent additions such as Sartiano's Italian Steakhouse and PISCES Bar & Seafare by the Lake of Dreams. Jardin at Encore closed for good in 2026, and Wynn says a new American restaurant will replace it.
Golf: the Wynn Golf Club has been part of the resort since 2005. It was redesigned after a lagoon project planned for part of the course was stopped.
Shopping: the Wynn Esplanade, Encore Esplanade and Wynn Plaza hold luxury boutiques such as Chanel, Dior, Hermès and Louis Vuitton.
